In loving memory of Nancy Bay: 1944-2026

Posted

Nancy Bay, a longtime resident of Rochester, Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026.

Nancy was born in Oakland, California, in 1944. She lived a full and meaningful life marked by love, friendship, adventure and a genuine desire to care for others.

Nancy shared many wonderful years with her husband, Bob Bay. His passing left a lasting hole in her heart. Together, Nancy and Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and simply being outdoors. Their adventures created treasured memories and stories that Nancy carried with her throughout her life. Among her favorite memories were trips to Alaska to visit her dear friends, LeeAnn and Brian.

Nancy is survived by her son, Earl (Buddy) Wallet III of Arkansas; her daughter, Charlene Wygal of Rochester, Washington; two granddaughters; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

To know Nancy was to know someone with a generous heart. She freely gave her time to local nonprofits, the Senior Center, dog rescues, the food bank and many more. She loved her dogs, Uno and Ducky, and enjoyed barn hunting. She was always willing to lend a hand wherever one was needed. Nancy was a true and loving friend to many, and her kindness reached far beyond her immediate family.

And if Nancy loved you, chances are she fed you. She found joy in cooking for people in need and for the people she loved. At her table, there was always room for one more hungry person. Her kitchen and dining table were places of good food, conversation, laughter and connection. She was a marvelous cook.

Her absence will be deeply felt, but the love and kindness Nancy gave so freely will remain in the hearts of the many people whose lives she touched.
