Rhoda I. Salzer passed away at home in Centralia, Washington, on June 19, 2023. She was born in The Dalles, Oregon on Feb. 9, 1945 to Arthur and Geraldine (Dixon) Smalley McClure. Rhoda started her career at the Washington State Auditor's fiOffice, where she worked for 2 years, before completing 36 years of work for the Lewis fiCounty Auditor's Office prior to her retirement in 2010.
Rhoda is now at peace with her husband, Fred Salzer.
She is survived by her mother, her loving children, son Shawn (Stephanie) Britton of Louden, Tennessee, daughter Stacey (Bob) Richardson of Centralia, grandchildren Skyler (Rayleen) Britton, Amber (Nicky) Brown, Timothy (Amanda) Richardson, David Richardson, JC (Amanda) Richardson, several great-grandchildren. Rhoda is preceded in death by her father, Arthur, her husband, Fred, and her grandson David Richardson Jr. Uncle Fred (Bud) Dixon, Aunt Edith Jay, and Uncle Louis Haynes, who she was very close to.
The family would especially like to thank Providence Hospice for their excellent care.
A graveside service will be held on July 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Claquato Cemetery. A potluck celebration of life will be held immediately following at Newaukum Grange located at 710 Hwy 603, Chehalis, WA 98532.
