In Loving Memory of Richard Hamilton: 1956-2023

Richard “Rick” Dwight Hamilton, 66, of Chehalis, Washington, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. 

Rick was born to Robert Hamilton Sr. and Ruth Kinzer on Oct. 25, 1956, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. He had four siblings: Robert Jr., Ann, William and Susie. Rick graduated from Quaker Valley High School of Sewickley, Pennsylvania. He attended Penn State and Centralia College. He married the love of his life, Susie Hamilton, on May 23, 2009. They blended their families, which consisted of Susie’s three children — Ben, Andy and Kalessa — and Rick’s three children – Chelsea, Ashley and Mary. 

Rick spent the last 10 years working for Twin Transit as a bus driver. Prior to that, he spent much of his life working in construction, both building and running heavy equipment, on various community projects. He competed in many pool and dart leagues and was an ace at trivia games. 

Rick was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hamilton Sr., and his mother, Ruth Kinzer. Rick is survived by his wife, Susie Hamilton; his siblings, Robert Hamilton Jr. (Paula), Ann Peterson (Ray), William Hamilton (Sissy) and Susie Denny (Bill); his daughters, Chelsea Renee Mortensen (A.J.), Ashley Erin Hamilton and Mary Ruth Hamilton; his step-children, Ben Hamilton (Wendy), Andy Hamilton (Bernadette) and Kalessa Markham (Kyle); his grandchildren, William, Jordyn, Oakley, Liam, Noah, Blake, Ryder, Boone and Riggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
