In loving memory of Robert Stallsworth: 1936-2024

Posted
Robert Stallsworth was born in Wray, Colorado, on Dec. 23, 1936, to James Eugene Stallsworth and Doris Moran Stallsworth.

After the untimely death of his father, he and his mother came to Onalaska, Washington, to join his grandparents, Brent and Mary Moran, residing on Gish Road, where he lived until age 17, when he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served 14 years, most of his service being overseas in Spain and England.

Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Washington state and began his most favorite job of his life, working in the woods for Weyerhaeuser as a timber faller. He retired after 21 years.

He then worked for various firms around town as a landscaper, ending his last 12 years of work as head landscaper at the Lucky Eagle Casino.

Retiring at age 74, he and his wife began to travel extensively world wide. Some favorite places were in Russia and China, but they always returned to Belize, regarding it as a “second home.”

Robert is survived by his wife of 52 years, Verna, in the family home, and grandson Nathan Bowers of Knoxville, Tennessee.
