Shirley Ann Emery O'Dell, 73, of Chehalis, Washington, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother departed this life on Oct. 14, 2022.
Shirley was born on April 15, 1949, to Lilly Ritenour of Aberdeen, Washington, where she was born and raised and met her first husband Marvin Earl Emery. They met when Shirley was 12 and Marvin was 13. They got married in 1964 in Aberdeen, Washington. They had 4 children and later moved to Chehalis, Washington. They were married for 32 years until Marvin passed away on Oct. 26, 1996.
She met her recent husband, Rick O'Dell from Redding, California and married in 2001 and has lived in Chehalis, Washington until her death.
Shirley spent most of her life as a housewife, taking care of her four children and later her grandchildren then great-grandkids.
She attended Faith Tabernacle Church in Central Park, Washington and then Word of Life Christian Center in Chehalis, Washington and up until her death Cornerstone Fellowship from Chehalis, Washington.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved singing on her church worship team and playing Bingo and was an avid fan of Elvis.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 22 years, Rick O'Dell of Chehalis, Washington: two sons: Joseph (Janice) Emery of Kalama, Washington: John (Shaunda) Emery of Chehalis, Washington; two daughter's, Judy (Phil) Halstead of Chehalis, Washington: Julie (Keith) Shumate of Pleasant Hill, Missouri: one brother, Dan (Crystal) Bonnell, Cosmopolis, Washington two sister's Anita Tavares (Frank) of Elma, Washington: Wilma Emery, of Chehalis, Washington: 13 grandchildren, Jacob Emery, Jennifer (Adam) Hadaller, Jordan (Ashley) Emery, Joshua (Taylor) Emery, Joseph, Keyara, and Zachary Halstead; Brittany (Brad) Gulley, Bradley (Alicia) Shumate: JJ Emery Waterman, Kevin (Haley) Emery, Ryan Emery, Austin Emery (Haley:) 11 great-grandchildren, Madison, Zakaia, and Arya Emery, Averie, Abram and Anara Hadaller; Ryker and Olivia Gulley, Bella and Abby Shumate; Jaxson Emery and two more on the way.
Shirley was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Emery, mother Lillian Ritenour, father Jodie Younger brother, Robert Sisk.
There was a private graveside service held for family at Grand Mound Cemetery in Rochester.
