Shirley Kay (North) Roberts passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 7, 2024.

Shirley was born in Chehalis, Washington, on July 16, 1942, to Sam and Daisy (Deskins) North. She graduated from Adna High School in 1960. She enjoyed longtime friendships with many of her classmates. She married Mike Roberts in October 1968.

A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley's life was a testament to family, hard work and dedication.

Shirley was preceded in death by her siblings, Sam North, Dorothy Rosbach and Veva Carlson. She leaves behind her loyal husband of 55 years, Mike Roberts, of Chehalis; and her beloved children, Michael Roberts, of Vancouver, and Laura Staley, of Seattle; and her cherished grandchildren, Carter Staley, Eli Staley and Rowan Murschall.

Shirley was a talented seamstress and quilter, creating beautiful and intricate pieces that were cherished by family and friends. She was an avid reader and she loved to travel. Shirley was also an amazing cook and baker. As a master gardener, she nurtured her gardens with the same care and attention she gave to her loved ones. Her vibrant gardens were a reflection of her creativity and passion for flowers, vegetables and gardening.

Shirley generously volunteered her time and many talents at St. Timothy’s Church in Chehalis, Garden Club and PEO, where she made lasting contributions and numerous friendships.

Shirley's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held to honor Shirley's life at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Chehalis. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army, an organization close to Shirley's heart.

Rest in peace, Shirley. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
