In Loving Memory of William Raymond “Bill” Fibich: 1932-2023

Bill Fibich, 90, a longtime resident of Chehalis passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Grays Harbor Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born on Sept. 6, 1932 in Richmond, New York to Michael and Roselle (Johnson) Fibich. 

Bill will be remembered as a loving husband to Laura Elaine who passed prior, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bill is survived by his four daughters, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Through the years dad enjoyed fishing, golf and tennis and played a fierce game of cribbage with the guys at McDonalds. Bill loved aggravation and checkers as well. Mom and Dad would play a game of cribbage to see who would be the boss of the day! 

Bill served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War as a Sergeant.

He had been an elder in the Church of Christ and loved God with all his heart. 

His career lead him to be a “Certified Professional Soil Scientist,” with a B.S. in Soils, minor in Agronomy. Spent twenty years as a Soil Scientist with the Soil Conservation Service of the USDA and three years as Assistant State Soil Scientist for Alaska (over six million acres of soil surveyed in Alaska and Washington).

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 10:00A.M. at Newell-Hoerling’s Chapel, Centralia, WA. The service will proceed to Alpha Cemetery, Onalaska, Wa., with Military Honors at 12 noon.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Newell-Hoerling’s Mortuary Centralia, Washington.
