In loving memory of Anita Arlene Foster: 1938-2023

Anita Arlene (Kanzler) Foster, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023 in Centralia following a brief illness. She was born in Spokane, Washington, on Aug. 11, 1938. She grew up on the family farm in Davenport, Washington. Anita graduated from Washington State University in 1960 and majored in Home Economics. fiHer first teaching job was in Port Angeles. She then went to Hillsboro, Oregon and worked in the Extension office. Following her time in Oregon, she returned to Port Angeles and continued her teaching career. On April 9, 1966 she married Larry Foster. Her teaching career moved her to Longview where she taught English and to Tumwater where she taught 7th grade and became a Middle School Counselor. She completed her teaching career after 30- 1/2 years in public education. Following retirement, she volunteered at God’s Closet and was an active member of the New Beginnings Community Church in Salkum. Survived by her husband, Larry; her sisters and spouses, Wenda and Roy Mackey, of Liberty Lake, Washington; Yvonne and Ken Manning, of Cheney, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 at New Beginnings Community Church, 181 Fuller Road, in Salkum, Washington.
