Brandt Daniel McKenna passed away Oct. 1, 2023. He was born in Morton, Washington, on Oct. 27, 1965.
Brandt was a kindhearted soul and was well known for his goofy shenanigans. He spent the entirety of his life in and around Lewis County. His early years were spent in Winlock and he later finished high school in Pe Ell.
Brandt met Jeanne and Nicole in the fall of 1986. He and Jeanne fell in love, got married and went on to add Katharina and Joshua to the family. Brandt spent the majority of adulthood working for various logging operations as a choker setter or rigging slinger. The woods were his favorite place. He would take the kids mushroom hunting for hours until everyone was soaked and cold and begging to go home.
Brandt was preceded in death by his daughter, Katharina; his wife, Jeanne; his mother and father, Marie and Gene; his sister, Gloria; and his brothers, Ralph and Steve. He is survived by his children, Nicole and Joshua; his grandchildren, Brody, Ivy, Bridger and Bristol; his brothers, David and Rick; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Doty Fire Hall in Doty, Washington.
