In loving memory of Pearl Moltz: 1952-2023

Posted

Pearl Lynne (Kaszycki) Moltz was born Feb. 22, 1952, in Chehalis, Washington, to Andrew and Marie Kaszycki. She passed away at home surrounded by family on Dec, 17, 2023, after battling cancer for over three years,

Pearl attended school in Pe Ell, Washington. She graduated with honors in 1970. She spent after-school hours and many weekends working at the family-owned restaurant, Mike's Café. After graduating, she began her career with the state of Washington on Aug. 17, 1971. She worked in Olympia and then eventually accepted a position with the Washington state Department of Transportation at the Chehalis office in 1982. In 1988, she became office manager. She retired as secretary supervisor in 2006 from the Chehalis office after working there 24 years.

On April 18, 1979, Pearl married her soul mate, Jack Edward Moltz, in Carson City, Nevada. They were inseparable for their 42 years together until Jack’s passing in 2021.

One of the joys in Pearl's life was being a part of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. She was a volunteer in the Chehalis branch for 12 years, a habitat partner legacy donor since Feb. 25, 2022 and a life member since March 30, 2022.

Everyone knows Pearl's greatest passion in life was music. She loved entertaining. Pearl grew up in a family where music was part of every holiday. “Singing seems to help a troubled soul," as she sang many times. Over the years, Pearl played for church services, funerals, weddings, banquets and parties. She would play at any venue she was requested. Another passion of Pearls was sports. She loved her Mariners and Seattle Seahawks! Several of her fondest memories were of games she attended with friends and family. Pearl's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Providence Home Health and Hospice for the caring and compassionate care that Pearl received. Their support and guidance were greatly appreciated. Pearl was blessed to be cared for in the comfort of her own home by family.

Pearl's faith was apparent to anyone who met her. She loved our Lord. She loved her church family, sharing her love of God with others, and placed all her faith and trust in God. She lived her life with love, compassion and faith.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Andrew and Marie Kaszycki; and her twin brothers, Mike and Doug Kaszycki. Pearl is survived by her sister, Veronica Hertwig (Ralph), Centralia; her stepson A.J. Schmidt (Toni), Kansas; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of life will be held for Pearl at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at God's Place, 100 Oyler Road, Ethel, Washington. Pastor Peter Stockley will officiate. A luncheon will follow.
