The W.F. West boys basketball made the most of what it hopes will be a state preview Thursday, beating Ellensburg 58-45 in Yakima on the first day of the SunDome Shootout.

Tyler Klatush had 21, drilling five 3-pointers, and also dished out six assists. Parker Eiswald tossed in 16 points, and Grady Westlund logged a 10-point, 17-board double-double.

The Bearcats started things out on defense, holding the Bulldogs to nine points in the opening quarter, led by four at halftime and finally were able to pull away in the fourth quarter.

W.F. West will get one more game in Yakima before coming home, taking on Prosser on Friday.
