Letter to the editor: Dave Fenn’s experience on state association shows he’d be a great PUD commissioner

Posted

Dave Fenn served as the treasurer of the Washington Association of Conservation Districts (WACD) during my entire tenure as its vice president and president.

As treasurer, Dave consistently provided timely and good advice on financial matters the board needed to consider and handle. As Treasurer he also was the Chair of WACD’s Finance Committee. This committee was tasked with providing oversight and guidance on financial matters affecting the WACD which included a native plant nursery located in Bow, Washington.

Dave was the voice of reason and kept us grounded. His counsel routinely caused us to pause, reconsider and at times modify the decisions we were about to make. This made the board confident that its decisions were appropriate. Dave also shepherded the board in developing and adopting a financial policy and procedure manual.

Adding to the experiences I’ve described above is his knowledge of and adherence to good governance principles.  All of this I believe would make Dave an excellent Lewis County Public Utility District, District 2 commissioner.
