I want a congressional representative who works for us and takes that work seriously.
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is a serious congresswoman. Rather than voting along party lines, Marie votes based on what she has heard from her constituents and what she knows is right.
For example, of the bills which President Joe Biden said he supported last year, she voted with him only 54% of the time, the second lowest support he got among Congressional Democrats. She works across party lines and is ranked among the top twenty House lawmakers on the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy’s 2023 Bipartisan Index, a tool to measure how much members of Congress reach across party lines on legislation.
Furthermore, she listens to what her constituents want. Since entering office, she has held town hall meetings in every county in the Third Congressional District. I am concerned that Joe Kent, based on his rhetoric and on his continued statements saying the 2020 election was stolen, would use his position to further his career rather than working to improve our lives.
These are some of the reasons Marie deserves our support.
