With cars parked along both sides of U.S. Highway 12 in Packwood, hundreds of East Lewis County residents watched as fireworks burst in the sky during the town’s annual Independence Day fireworks show on Saturday, July 6.

For nearly 45 minutes after dusk, fireworks were launched from the field adjacent to the Packwood Fire Department on Highway 12. The show was organized by Lewis County Fire District 10 Chief Lonnie Goble, according to Packwood resident Bill Serrahn.

“The Packwood show has been fantastic for the last few years … It’s one of the best,” Serrahn said in an email to The Chronicle.
