Nineteen points in the first quarter proved to be more than enough for the Vikings to secure a 48-20 C2BL home victory over the Cardinals on Wednesday night at home.
It marks the second straight game where Mossyrock (6-6, 1-1 C2BL) allowed less than 30 points and picked up its first victory since December 19. Kendall Cournyer and Chesney Schultz paced the Vikings with 14 points apiece.
“We came out and played well early,” Vikings head coach Nick Rashoff said. “I was happy with the effort and execution. I was happy with the defense for the most part.”
Mossyrock will face rival Morton-White Pass on Friday night while Winlock (2-11, 0-2) takes on former league rival Wahkiakum also on Friday. Natalie Cardenas finished with 11 points to lead the Cardinals.
