A Randle man is facing felony charges in Lewis County Superior Court after allegedly exchanging sexually explicit online messages with a 12-year-old girl.

Parveen Parveen, 23, is accused of striking up conversations with the girl on Snapchat after she frequented the 76 Station in Randle, where he worked as a clerk.

Parveen is charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes, a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, and first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

A Lewis County Superior Court judge set Parveen’s bail at $50,000 during his initial appearance on Wednesday, July 30. Parveen was ordered to surrender all firearms and have no contact directly or indirectly with minor children. He’s also not allowed to visit any location where minor children congregate.

Parveen was still being held in the Lewis County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.

A probable cause statement filed by the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office outlines the allegations against Parveen.

On July 29, the mother of the victim reported inappropriate communication on social media between her daughter and Parveen. She stated that her daughter had disclosed to her that she had been having inappropriate conversations with the clerk of the store in Randle.

“(The mother) stated they had been exchanging photographs, including photographs of their genitalia, and inappropriate conversations and he had shared a pornographic video with (the victim) that contained a young child that was around the age of 8 years old,” the affidavit states. “(The mother) stated that she had gone into the store at one point and the clerk asked if she was (the victim’s) mom. She said ‘yes’ and told him that (her daughter) was 12 years old.”

The victim told an investigating detective that she frequents the 76 Station in Randle to make various purchases.

“While doing so, one of the clerks, whom she only knows as ‘Laadi,’ had found her on Snapchat and they began chatting back and forth,” the documents state. “The Snapchat name used was ‘Laadi_USA.’ She said this had been going on for the past 20 days or so. She said they had shared multiple inappropriate photographs, which include photographs of her breasts, her bottom and her vagina, approximately 11 to 12 times.”

The detective was shown images that had been sent by Parveen, which included a photo of his genitalia.

The deputy interviewed Parveen at the gas station. After initially claiming he did not have inappropriate communication with the girl, Parveen eventually admitted to the activity, specifically that he had sent an image of his gentilalia to the girl and that she had sent photos as well.

“He said he thought she was 18, but (the detective) reminded him that her mom and told him she was 12,” court documents state. “When asked if he had any child pornography on his phone, he said he might have received some on WhatsApp.”

Parveen’s arraignment and trial setting hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 7 in Lewis County Superior Court.
