The Toledo girls basketball team kickstarted its postseason with a bang, dominating Ocosta 69-37 in the first round of the 2B District 4 Tournament.

"I’m really proud of how our girls played tonight,” Toledo coach Randy Wood said.

Toledo (13-8, 6-7 C2BL) took control early, outscoring Ocosta 22-7 in the first quarter. Hope Gould, Ryah Stanley, and Ellie Fallon combined for all 22 of those points, combining for five 3-pointers to set the tone.

In the second, Gould hit twice more from beyond the arc, and Stanley and Fallon buried one more each to help the Riverhawks take a 39-17 lead into halftime.

Toledo was more balanced scoring in the second half, as 10 Riverhawks ended up on the scoresheet, and they never wavered defensively.

The Wildcats didn’t score more than 10 in a single quarter and didn’t hit a single 3-pointer all game.

Fallon finished with a team-high 16 points, though Stanley and Gould were right with her at 15 apiece.

With the win, Toledo moves on to the quarterfinals, where it will face Adna, the C2BL champs, on Tuesday at W.F. West.
