Friday was a return to form for the Rochester football team on Friday, as the Warriors extended their win streak to three by rushing for nearly 450 yards in a 43-0 blowout win over Elma.
“The team played extremely well,” Rochester coach A.J. Easley said. “We played very physical. It was a big night for Ethan (Rodriguez) and all the backs.”
Rodriguez led the way for the Warriors’ running back committee, running for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 12 carries. Xander Peterman added a score and 67 yards on 11 carries, while Carson Rotter, Tristan Nelson, and Dominic Delgado also got into the end zone.
As a team, Rochester tallied 448 yards on 50 rushes, which comes out to just under nine yards a pop.
“It was a nice first league game,” Easley said.
The Warriors (3-2, 1-0 1A Evergreen) will have to wait before their next league test, as they’ll host King’s next Friday, Oct. 11. After that, the Warriors will host Montesano the following Friday, Oct. 18.
