Ignited by 22 of their 24 runs in the first three innings, the Riverhawks picked up a one-sided 24-3, five-inning victory against the Cardinals on Monday night at home.
Through the first quarter of the season, the top of the C2BL is a logjam with four unbeatens in the league, one of them being Toledo (4-1, 3-0). It plated 14 runs in the third inning to seize control and start the blowout.
Outfielder Eli Weeks went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, triple, four runs batted in and a pair of stolen bases. Leadoff hitter Rohan Feigenbaum reached base via two walks and notched three stolen bases, three runs scored plus two RBIs. Isaac Parmantier struck out seven in two-plus innings on the mound.
Winlock (0-6, 0-5) grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first and its third run crossed hom in the third. The Cardinals and Riverhawks will tangle again on Thursday night in Winlock.
