A man and woman from Yelm were both injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after their motorcycle crossed the centerline on U.S. Highway 12 northeast of Packwood and struck a semi and trailer Saturday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Richard C. Pigmon, 51, was driving a 2011 Harley-Davidson east on U.S. Highway 12 near mile marker 138 when the motorcycle crossed the centerline at about 3:15 p.m.

The motorcycle crashed into a 2014 Kenworth hauling a trailer.

Richard Pigmon and his passenger, 52-year-old Lisa Pigmon, both suffered injuries and were transported to Harborview.

The driver of the Kenworth — Juan A. Garcia Martinez, 54, of Grandview — was not injured.

The semi and trailer had reportable damage while the motorcycle was totaled.

The Pigmons were both wearing helmets and Martinez was wearing his seat belt.

Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash, according to the state patrol, which listed the cause of the collision as crossing the centerline.
