The Black Hills girls basketball team’s season came to an end on Thursday, as the Wolves fell to Mark Morris 47-37 in a 2A District 4 elimination game.

The Wolves (18-5, 10-2 2A EvCo) trailed 13-9 after one, but they allowed just two points in the second quarter and took a 16-15 lead into halftime.

The Monarchs finally found an answer offensively in the third quarter, however, scoring 21 points to build a double-digit lead before adding 11 in the fourth to hold on to it.

Black Hills’ best offensive quarter came in the fourth, when they scored 12 points, but it only made a small dent in the lead.

Kylie McMahon and Natalie Buchanan led the Wolves with 10 points each, while Tyler Venable scored seven and Claire Johnson added five points and grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds.
