“The Lightning Thief,” a youth-centered adaptation of Rick Riordan’s popular children’s novel “Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief,” runs this weekend at the Evergreen Playhouse in Centralia.
The production marks Theatre of Arts Discipline (TOAD)’s last planned kids summer camp in Centralia, following eight years of kids summer camps at the Evergreen Playhouse.
“We’ll still be going on up in Tacoma and everything, but the commute when we live in University Place is an hour each way … We had to make the decision for this to be our last year, and we’ll go out with a bang,” TOAD co-owner Rich Garrett told The Chronicle in July.
“The Lightning Thief” opens Friday, Aug. 23, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 25, with performances at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
