Billetproof Car Show Rolling Through Fairgrounds
The Billetproof Hot Rod and Custom Show comes to Chehalis 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds.
Hundreds of hot rods and customs, live bands, vendors and a pin-up contest will be part of the event. Spectator entry is $10. Children under 12, police, fire and active-duty military are free with proper ID.
The show car ticket price is $35 (driver and passenger included plus goodie bag and in-show parking).
Billetproof is about pre-1964 hot rods and customs. No high tech, billet wheel, digital dashed techno rods or street rods are allowed.
Billetproof was founded in 1997 in California and has since spread across the country with shows that draw thousands of hot rods and spectators.

Chef’s Night Out Coming to Lucky Eagle Tonight
Looking for a tasty night out in support of the community? United Way of Lewis County is hosting its fifth annual Chef’s Night Out at 6 p.m. tonight at the Lucky Eagle Casino.
Those in attendance will watch as local chefs compete for their vote, vying for the title of Lewis County’s Next Top Chef.
Among the featured chefs are Darin Harris, Boccata; Jim Wheeler, Market St. Pub; Laurel Khan, Mackinaw’s; Donnie Stancil; McMenamins Olympic Club; Mike Allen, O’Blarney’s Irish Pub; James Odiorne; Riverside Golf Club; and Jeremy Wildhaber, Jeremy’s Bistro & Market.
Chef’s Night Out features numerous dining experiences up for bid and an array of desserts.
Proceeds benefit many health and human service organizations in Lewis County.
Tickets are $50; tables of 10 are available. Tickets can be purchased at the United Way office in Chehalis or by reserving online at www.lewiscountyuw.com.

Realty World Run/Walk Set for Saturday
The third annual Family 5k Run/Walk, sponsored by Realty World, Cosser and Associates, will be held today in Chehalis.
Participants may register at the Realty World office, 282 SW 13th St., Chehalis. The registration fee is $20. Those who sign up before June 1 will receive a T-shirt.
The run/walk starts and ends at the Realty World office.
This year’s event will benefit the Discover! Children’s Museum.

School Class of 1983 Plans Reunion
Members of the Winlock High School Class of 1983 will be gathering for a reunion today. The class will meet for the Winlock Egg Days parade at 10:30 a.m. That evening, there will be a no-host buffet dinner at Ramblin Jack’s Rib Eye, Napavine, 6-10 p.m. Cost is approximately $25 person.

Dance Center to Present All School Dance Concert
The Southwest Washington Dance Center will be presenting its 30th annual All School Dance Concert today at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Corbet Theatre on the campus of Centralia College. More than 200 students will be performing this year.
The 11 a.m. performance is dedicated to the youngest dancers. The creative movement, parent/toddler, tumbling, pre-jazz and pre-ballet classes will show their work. A special addition to this performance will be a short dance production of “The Wonderful World of Dr. Seuss.” This production was recently featured at more than 11 schools in South Thurston and Lewis County for the Dance Center’s annual school tour this spring.
The 2 and 7 p.m. programs will showcase a wide variety of dance styles, from jazz, lyrical, acro, tap, modern, and classical and contemporary ballet. Also performing will be the rhythmic gymnastic team. Dancers, starting at age 6, through our advanced will be performing. All 10 instructors from the Dance Center will showcase their choreography. Also performing will be the Ballet Company.

Class on Beginning Beekeeping Planned
A free overview of “Getting Started in Beekeeping” will be offered by the Lewis County Beekeepers’ Association at the Centralia Timberland Library from 1:30 to 3 p.m. today.
Topics will include a year in the life of a beekeeper, equipment needed, basic bee biology, startup costs and more. This overview introduces the Washington State Beekeepers’ Association apprentice beekeeping course, which will be offered at the Extension classroom in the Lewis County Courthouse in October and November.
