The Oakville boys’ basketball team held off a late Pe Ell rally on Wednesday, coming away with a 49-44 win.

The Acorns led by 15 with three minutes to play in the third quarter, but the Trojans clawed back to get within two in the fourth quarter.

Courtney Price was the Acorns’ main source of offense, as he scored a game-high 22 points.

Pe Ell coach Chris Phelps was proud of the way the Trojans fought, saying his team played with a lot of heart.

“We have made leaps and bounds since Day 1,” Phelps said. “And we are very excited to see how much more we can improve.”

Carter Phelps was excellent on both ends of the floor, leading the team with 15 points while also tallying eight steals, seven rebounds and three assists.

The Trojans are back in action on Saturday at Winlock, while the Acorns are off until Tuesday, when they’ll head to Sound Christian Academy.
