The award is given on an annual basis to an individual who attended the college for at least one year and/or has made significant contributions to his or her profession or society in general.

The recipient of the award is named in the spring and is recognized at the college’s commencement ceremony in June.

Previous winners include Brian Valentine, former vice president with Microsoft; Jerris Hedges, whose work was instrumental in developing the pacemaker; Del Smith, founder of Evergreen International Aviation, Inc.; Angela Meade, world renowned opera singer; and Patty Morton, America’s first female U.S. State Department special agent.

In all, 37 individuals have received the award.

The selection committee depends on the community to make nominations and is asking the public to share information about those who have attended Centralia College.

For additional information, or for a nomination form, contact the Centralia College Foundation at (360) 736-9391, ext. 290.

Nominations may be sent to Julie Johnson at 600 Centralia College Blvd., Centralia, WA 98531 or emailed to jjohnson@centralia.edu.
