Mossyrock falls to Warrenton in low-scoring affair

It was a game for the defenses in Mossyrock, as the Vikings fell to Warrenton, Oregon 7-2 on Friday night.

Warrenton opened the scoring in the first quarter with a touchdown, but that was the only score of the game until Mossyrock forced a safety in the fourth quarter.

“Our defense played well,” Mossyrock coach Eric Ollikainen said. “We had our chances to win.”

The Vikings didn’t have trouble moving the ball, as they gained 278 yards of offense, but they couldn’t finish off their drives with points.

Easton Kolb threw for 88 yards and ran for 82 more, while Kyle Brockway rushed for 48 and Freddy Solis added 26 on just a pair of carries.

Charles Edgar caught five passes for 63 yards, and Eathan Johnson took his only reception 25 yards.

Mossyrock (2-4, 2-2 C2BL East) will return to league play next Friday, when it goes to Rainier to take on the Mountaineers.
