It was another stellar game for Rodrigo Rodriguez and Blaze Underhill on Saturday, as the Onalaska duo led the Loggers to a 58-0 blowout win over Klahowya.

Rodriguez ran for 191 yards and four touchdowns on 17 attempts, while Underhill added 165 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries.

“Really happy with how the boys executed,” Onalaska coach Mazen Saade said.

This game wasn’t on the schedule at the beginning of the season, but the Loggers were able to schedule the game after Winlock forfeited the originally-scheduled league matchup. The Loggers got the league win, and Saade was happy that they were still able to play a game.

“It’s nice to play these games,” Saade said. “Because it’s an unfamiliar opponent in an unfamiliar place, which prepares you for the postseason.

“We as a staff are really proud of how they responded,” he continued. “I thought they responded well and played a good game of football.”

Onalaska’s (6-1, 4-0 C2BL East) next game will also have a postseason feel, as Toledo will come to town with the league title on the line.

It’s also a potential state tournament preview, as both teams have been highly ranked in the Washington State Football Coaches Association poll. In the most recent poll, Toledo was No. 3, and Onalaska was right behind at No. 4.

“Toledo is one heck of a football team,” Saade said. “We’re gonna have our hands full … Hopefully we can put a game plan together and execute against a good opponent. I think our guys are up to the challenge.”
