Thunderbirds top Bearcats for second time in two weeks

The W.F. West boys tennis team got another crack at Tumwater at home on Wednesday, but the T-Birds topped the Bearcats 5-1.

Just like the first meeting between the two teams last week, Javyn Han and Bryce Kuykendall came away with W.F. West’s lone win of the day in the top doubles match, as they topped Cody Lambert and Kaleb Peterson 6-1, 6-3.

Will Cummings and the duo of Ryan Bender and Colin Bradley battled back to force an extra game in their second sets, but they both fell.

First singles: Bodie Jackson (TUM) over Will Cummings (WFW) 6-3, 7-5

Second singles: Kieran Cox (TUM) ove Braden Newman (WFW) 6-4, 6-3



Third singles: Matt Merchant (TUM) over Sawyer Cothern (WFW) 6-2, 6-3

First doubles: Javyn Han/Bryce Kuykendall (WFW) over Cody Lambert/Kaleb Peterson (TUM) 6-1, 6-3

Second doubles: Max Bunn/Luke Houk (TUM) over Andre Tseng/Jaxon Velazquez (WFW) 6-0, 6-0

Third doubles: Henry Walter/Thomas Williams (TUM) over Ryan Bender/Colin Bradley (WFW) 6-2, 7-5

The Bearcats will look to bounce back when they host Aberdeen on Friday, while the T-Birds will head across town to face Black Hills on Thursday.
